Coordinator for Student Conduct and Intervention
The Coordinator for Student Conduct and Intervention assists in the overall coordination of student judicial and intervention services and is responsible for overseeing the Student Code of Conduct and leading campus-wide efforts to ensure support of and responsiveness to students displaying concerning behaviors. Harford Community College approaches student conduct from an educational perspective and the Coordinator for Student Conduct and Intervention is responsible for implementing sanctions that are aligned to the Student Code and designed to promote learning opportunities for students or student organizations found responsible for violations. The person selected for this position must be committed to promoting equity and inclusion and exude a welcoming, fair-minded demeanor.

Duties include, but are not limited to, investigating and adjudicating alleged violations to the Student Code of Conduct, responding to student crises and emergencies, referring students to appropriate medical and/or mental health professionals, and interpreting and assessing outcomes related to student conduct and intervention. The Coordinator for Student Conduct and Intervention serves as the chair of the Student Intervention and Prevention (SIP) Team. This requires the establishing monthly meetings with the SIP Team, identifying agenda items for each meeting, sharing outcomes related to concerning behavior reports (CBRs) received and emergency SIP calls responded to, and providing guidance and support to SIP team members regarding SIP and CBR processes.

This is an exempt, professional staff position reporting to the Director for Disability and Intervention Services and is part of the Student Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness division.
Qualifications & Requirements
A master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a related field, and three to five years of related experience, including experience investigating and adjudicating alleged violations to the Student Code of Conduct in addition to developing programs and services designed to support the well-being of students enrolled in credit and continuing education programs. Other requirements include:

a working knowledge of relevant laws (e.g., Clery, VAWA, Title IX, ADAAA, etc.), due process rights, and promising practices in the field of student conduct

knowledge of current technologies as they relate to conduct and student intervention

proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment, advanced skills using MS Office programs, and experience using student information system records software

a demonstrated history of managing multiple tasks with attention to detail

a motivated/enthusiastic work style, coupled with superior relationship-building skills using a proactive approach

demonstrated ability to use cross-generational outreach approaches

a solid understanding of the unique experiences of individuals from underserved backgrounds including. but not limited to, LGBTQ+, students of color, women, first generation, low income, and students with disabilities

exceptional organizational and communication skills

an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents including students, employees, state-wide affinity group counterparts, faculty, and staff

Preference will be given to applicants who have community college experience in the field of conduct and student intervention. Experience utilizing Banner 9 and Maxient Conduct Software is ideal. To ensure optimal communication with our diverse student population, bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
