Position description

The University of California, Davis Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pain Medicine, is seeking a licensed clinical psychologist for a full time faculty appointment. This position is available at the Assistant/Associate rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.

The Division of Pain Medicine serves to provide a full range of treatment and management services, including behavioral medicine.

Responsibilities include: Providing group and individual psychotherapy to pain medicine patients, administer psychological testing, teach and mentor behavioral health students, medical students, residents and pain medicine fellows.

Basic Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Ph.D., Psy.D. or equivalent doctoral degree and be eligible for licensure in clinical psychology in the state of California. The applicant should exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to foster collegiality and collaboration in a diverse environment is required. Experience in or the ability to teach and supervise medical students, residents and fellows is required.

Candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level, with experience in supportive, problem solving, and cognitive behavioral individual and group psychotherapy are preferred.

A background in health, medical or pain psychology is desirable.

This recruitment is conducted at the assistant or associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant or associate rank depending on the proposed appointee's qualifications.
